HITRONet – computer communication network of state government bodies
HITRONet network enables connection of different state government bodies through one common computer communication network. At the same time, this network represents an integral part of eGovernment project and basic infrastructure for further development of electronic services and also enables better communication among state government bodies.

The basic purpose of HITRONet network is integration of state information resources through safe, private broadband infrastructure, which encompasses connection of distant locations within state government bodies to common data network due to more efficient and cheaper operation of state government bodies and exchange of electronic data. Likewise, HITRONet provides its users with secure and strictly supervised access and connection of the network to Internet and establishment of standard network services.

Until now, all central locations of state government bodies in the City of Zagreb have been connected into HITRONet, as well as all registry offices and courts. After physical connection into closed and safe communication network, carried out by the Financial Agency pursuant to the decision of the Croatian Government, we pass onto the phase in which we examine the possibility of introducing new services in the network which will unite all existing service for voice and data transfer. We expect to significantly reduce telecommunication costs of state government bodies as early as next year.
