Infrastructure development in areas of special state concern and hill-mountain areas
The Croatian Government passed a decision in 2007 that the grant in the amount of 16,136,263.76 HRK is given as an incentive for connecting users in areas of special state concern and hill-mountain areas, and authorised the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency for the implementation of this procedure.

Incentives granted were one-off incentives for each newly connected user to the broadband Internet access infrastructure in targeted geographical areas (areas of special state concern and hill-mountain areas). The goal was to enable broadband access to new users in households, educational, cultural and healthcare institutions.

The number of connections realised pursuant to these granted incentive for the development of broadband infrastructure in areas with insufficient interest for development and investment into the broadband Internet access infrastructure amounted to 15,310 by the end of 2008.
